You can simply go to the mall and walk around or choose to move from one place to another on foot, instead of taking the car. In order to count your steps, you might want to purchase a pedometer. To stay in shape, you must make no less than 10,000 steps per day. Another simple exercise you can make is to lift weights or use stretch bands. You can easily do these exercises at home while watching your favorite TV show or listening to you favorite music. However, if you do not want to buy weights, you can use buckets of water or food cans instead. To stay in shape, you can also use exercise DVDs or audio routines. These kinds of exercises are usually fun to do, so you will surely like them. In addition, you might also want to take the stairs instead of taking the elevator and to do some active housework that can keep you in shape more than you may think.
When it comes to outdoor fitness exercises, these are also varied. Make sure to dress warm before going outside and practicing them, though. Among them, there are winter sports you can try, like snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or skating. However, you will need a special kind of equipment for these sports. If you do not want to try such extreme sports, you can do other winter activities that will keep you in shape, such as shoveling the snow. If you ever did it, you surely know that this is hard to do and that you can exercise a lot of muscles by doing it. On the other hand, if this might seem too difficult, you can always take the dog out for a run with you. You can make a routine from this and jog in the morning or during the evening, depending on how busy your schedule is.
Nonetheless, always remember to dress warm if you decide to do outdoor exercises. You should necessarily have on a hat, a scarf and mittens. In addition, you will need waterproof shoes that can keep your feet dry, plus a pair of warm socks. In what the clothes are concerned, these must be made of wool or of polypropylene. Cotton clothes must be avoided as much as possible, as these can enable your body to lose valuable heat. As long as you are set with such warm clothing, you should not have a problem with practicing winter fitness exercises.
